"My Mother’s Diary"
Dramatic:
Don’t look at me,
.....because I am guilty
Don’t pity me
..... because I’m lost
I am a child
..... a child of my mother’s love."
Narrative:
T’was early morning cold,
one chilly winter day
I just don’t remember
I have nothing to say
A cottage by the woods,
my mother she bore me
With her mind full of power,
and her heart full of love
As she sweat and she pushed,
giving the chance for me
She knew that her world,
will end that very day
Every minute of time,
she made her mind strong
Counting the breath she takes
until her child is born
She knew that in a while,
a time to rest and sleep
A rest that’s forever,
in the darkness of death
(Dramatic:)
Oh mother.. my mother!
....what love you had for me?
Your life you didn’t care,
....you gave them all for me
But mother.. my mother!
.....what’s life ahead of me?
You’re not there to cuddle,
..... and you’re not there to care
Who else would be like you?
..... Who will love me like you do?
My life and my future,
..... is useless without you
(Stage performance:)
Anyone knows my mother?
Do you know her so well?
If so please come to me,
you have something to tell
(Narrative:)
But no one dare to answer,
they seem to be in fear
The truth they keep hiding,
the truth they don’t reveal
Dramatic:
"Oh mother, my mother!
my poor heart’s in trouble
Please give me an answer
tell me what’s the matter"

Narrative:
My dad went out one night
to be with friends somewhere
I don’t mean to blame him
for he is always alone
I took my little chance
to sneak in his room,
In my daddy’s pillow,
a book that’s nearly torn
An old little notebook,
that is filled with writing
With photo of my mom,
oh!.. it's already fading
All the answers are there,
about my dear mother
Her life was endanger,
The doctor had told her
This how it is in ectopic pregnancy. The mother can choose either she will lose her life or the baby. This was where this poem was rooted
She was given a choice,
either me or her own
She sighed and she uttered
“please let my child be born”
Oh pitiful mother..
who gave the chance to me
When we're both a victim,
of ectopic pregnancy
Yes in my mother’s womb,
death and life awaits me
My mother chose to die;
yes she died just for me
Stage performance:
Tears fall down from my eyes,
to know the true story
My mother was at risk,
the time she conceived me.
Now I finally see
the truth they hid from me
My mother had written,
it’s in her diary

How did you like this poetry out loud poems?
By the way this poem is intended to be recited out loud that is why it is a poetry out loud poems. You can see the scene jumps from past to present then back again. It has a narrative part, a dramatic scene and stage performance.
In the narrative, you recite it as if you are relating the story, the dramatic is full of drama as if it is happening right at the very moment and the stage performance is when you know you are performing on the stage to your audience. So the actor plays all the multiple scenes indicated, changing his tone and beat from time to time.
Rhyming poems are different, they just go smooth from the start to the finish. They have good connectivity, like a song with a mellow tunes, but this is kind of poem, sudden changes occur which is shown in the feelings and emotions of the performer.
Like music, there many types of poems with different styles and beats, and there are many types still being created by modern poets today that it is hard to catch up with the flow.

these poems are wonderful.. wow!! you made me cry for your mom she was so good only what was best for her daughter. Blessings

This is out of the world! Simply fabulous. I just loved the way your words flowed between dramatic and narrative. Although my perspective on the subject is that if the mother knows that its going to be her or her child, I think she should choose herself, because the child she is giving birth to at the cost of her own life is bound to have a miserable life after her mother is gone. Why give birth to a child whose future is bleak. I am sorry but that's just my take on it.
It is a nice poem.. But I had trouble connecting with the words..
And you keep jumping from scene to scene..
You where dancing round and round.. If you had just hit the nail. It would have being a great poem..
You mum is gone..
Living you so hurt..
Rethorically! So many question running through your mind.
It hurts but in the end you found a reason to be strong...
It is a very nice poem, with great concept.. Just was not connecting well..
Thanks for sharing.. Voted beautiful.
