How To Develop The Art Of Commenting?

Don’t you know that commenting is a skill? We maybe skilled in writing articles, promoting them and monetizing them but sometimes we ignore the value of small things like commenting. Yes comments are small task and don’t need a lot of time to write them but they are powerful tools to get people’s trust and can add to your good reputation.

Why do we leave comments?

• The article we read is interesting and useful

• We express our appreciation on the effort made by the writer in creating the hub and that he is able to share it to us.

• We want to participate in the community

• We want to encourage new writers
• We want to add ideas that was not brought out by the writer

Thoughtful comments, if expressed in a kind and tactful way can make the writer feel appreciated. Chances are there that he will do the same to us, they will check our hubs and leave some comments too. Though this is not our purpose in commenting but if this happen we know we also need encouragement from others. The encouragement we gave will bounce back to us and this can boost us to make more articles.

In leaving a comment we must put ourselves in the writer’s side. We would like to leave encouraging comments on other's hubs as we would like them to leave encouraging comment on our hubs.

But what if we disagree with the ideas in a certain article, how can we leave a kind and encouraging comment about that?

• First of all we should consider the things why he wrote that article
• We should remember that writers possessed different ideas and see things in different perspective. Maybe they are riding on another helicopter in the opposite side.
• Others were not born with English language and trying hard to make an article.
• We must show consideration in expressing our ideas in such a way that will not put them down.
• If you don't really like the article you may leave and find another hub to read. In this way you will not say things that you will regret after all, that can possibly ruin your reputation and that can insult the writer.

• If we found something disagreeable in our point of view, and we really want to say something about it, we can say it by choosing the right words that we know will not discourage or will not offend the writer. Yes being considerate in our comment is a proof that we are developing the art of commenting and at the same time building a good reputation.

As it was mentioned we do our best to write articles that can give knowledge to our readers, similarly in commenting we must also endeavor to do it with the motive of encouraging the writer, participating in the community and adding useful information to the article without offending anyone.
